Due to natural attrition an opening has arisen in our Bristol Finance Shared Centre for a Payroll Supervisor looking for a career in Finance, to join our Team of 10 Finance Staff.

The Finance Shared Service Centre manages the end to end Finance function and supports the whole business. The areas that the team cover are, Contractor Payroll, Credit Management, Customer Terms, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Treasury, Taxation, Insight Reporting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Internal Payroll, HR Administration, Property Services, Company Secretarial, Taxation and Commercial Pricing for new Customers.

Recruitment is a face pasted, highly transactional environment. The person that joins the team needs to have exemplary attention to detail and enjoy working in a business that produces 4 Weekly Management Accounts.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Payroll Manager as the No. 2 in Payroll in overseeing and co-ordinating a 350 Headcount Contractor Weekly Payroll and Billing process for Umbrella Contractors and Personal Service Company Contractors (LTD co)
  • Processing Timesheets & Compliance for New and Existing Contractors
  • Chasing and vetting Timesheets for the correct and accurate Client Approval Levels before processing
  • Vetting new and existing Contractors for RTW documentation and CSCS Cards with Client SLA’s
  • On Boarding New Customers onto the Pay and Bill System (MERIT)
  • KPI Reporting for Trades and Residential Clients for both internal and external Stakeholders
  • Processing CIS hours and charges
  • Managing Worker Pay Queries
  • Managing Umbrella PSL Stakeholders
  • Managing escalations and complaints
  • Ad Hoc Weekly Reporting using Excel

  • Good sense of humour and used to working in an office that is purely Finance staff
  • Ability to problem solve when required
  • Keen learner and self-motivator
  • Technical requirements:
  • Must have prior SME experience
  • Must have Payroll specific experience
  • Must have experience working in a Transactional business environment

Desirable requirements:

  • Recruitment Industry experience
  • Construction Industry experience
  • Knowledge of CIS
  • Experience mentoring Junior Team members
