Due to continued land acquisition and an ambitious development pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planning Manager to play a key role in securing and delivering future housing developments.

The Role
Reporting to the Land and Planning Director, the Planning Manager will be responsible for managing planning applications and promoting residential development sites through the planning process. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders to secure planning consents and maximise site potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential planning applications from inception through to approval.
- Lead pre-application discussions and negotiations with local authorities.
- Coordinate external planning consultants and specialist advisors.
- Prepare and oversee planning strategies for strategic and immediate land opportunities.
- Monitor local planning policy and emerging development plans.
- Assess development opportunities and provide planning advice to land acquisition teams.
- Manage planning appeals, consultations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Work collaboratively with technical, design, and commercial departments throughout the development process.
- Prepare planning appraisals and development reports for senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with planning officers, local authorities, and industry contacts.
The Person
- Previous experience in a Planning Manager, Senior Planner, Planning Consultant, or Development Planning role.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and residential development sector.
- Experience managing planning applications for housing developments.
- Excellent understanding of local authority planning processes and policy frameworks.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance planning objectives and development viability.
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartered status is desirable.
