A leading UK residential developer is seeking an Architectural Technician to join its Design and Technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of housing developments, including new-build and refurbishment projects, within a forward-thinking and sustainability-focused organisation.

The Role

The Design and Technical teams play a central role in housing design, innovation, and delivery. Working closely with internal colleagues and external consultants, the Architectural Technician will support projects through the full design, planning, and technical approval process, ensuring developments are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard.

This role offers exposure to a wide variety of sites, each presenting unique design and technical challenges, alongside opportunities to develop expertise in design coordination, technical problem-solving, and project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural and technical support across multiple residential developments
  • Produce and amend site layouts and working drawings
  • Assist with planning applications and technical submissions
  • Coordinate and deliver detailed working drawing packages
  • Prepare specifications and collate technical information
  • Obtain building regulation approvals for allocated projects
  • Support the provision of technical information for site starts
  • Investigate technical issues and propose practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Attend site and project meetings as required
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Contribute new ideas and continuously seek improvements to processes and design quality

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet changing deadlines
  • A good understanding of technical and design functions within residential development
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach

An architectural or engineering background is highly desirable, along with experience or interest in residential housing projects.
