Provide appropriate support on each project to the Technical Manager:

  • Assisting in the selection and appointment of external design consultants to facilitate successful delivery of the design of a project, or projects, through preparation of the project scoping documentation.
  • Ensuring timely preparation of all design information including specifications, details and subsequent monitoring and communication of all information to the development and construction team.
  • Providing appropriate, concise reports to the Technical Manager on a diarised basis.
  • Managing fees and consultant appointments.
  • Commenting and approving contractor designs in design led packages.
  • Managing and approving the deliverables from designers.
  • Maintaining the essence of the concept design during the process.
  • Resolving technical enquiries from Commercial or Build team through change requests.
  • Managing the building control submissions, approvals and NHBC processes.
  • Auditing designs.
  • Valuing engineer designs to maintain the essence of the design concept for the site.

Contract management and delivery:

  • Monitoring all consultant activity according to an agreed design programme and budget.
  • Checking and ensuring coordination of architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Issuing drawings and information for procurement, construction, customer services, sales and marketing.
  • Ensuring current drawings and specifications are distributed accordingly.
  • Maintaining an up to date technical library.
  • Coordinating timely receipt and issue of all sub-contractor drawings (including approval process).
  • Managing and progressing enquiries and applications to statutory service companies and local authorities.

Inter-departmental support services:

  • Working closely with other project associated disciplines to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of¬† Berkeley St Edward product.
  • Maintaining an awareness of all departments critical paths.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of sales information including brochure and conveyance plans.
  • Maintaining drawing revisions and reporting change implications to various departments and disciplines.
  • Prepare sales presentation packs prior to launch.

Product and market research and development:

  • Contributing to in house knowledge and information base.
  • Contributing to the quality and financial management of the Company.
  • Facilitate/undertake Technical Reviews Products.
  • Review and update internal specification.

Problem solving:

  • Proactively seeking inter-departmental input into the design process.
  • Assisting with the timely resolution of day to day construction problems.
  • Maintaining an awareness of product information and regulations.
  • Providing solutions to obstacles to production.

Commercial Awareness:

  • Contributing to the quality and ¬†financial management of the Company.

Design Management:

  • Facilitating feedback to contractors and consultants on matters of design.
  • Reviewing specifications with to contractors and consultants.
