Our client, a Residential Developer situated in South West London are looking for a Head of Land & Planning to lead the land team with a focus on land acquisition to increase the current land bank.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the identification and acquisition of immediate and long term land opportunities for residential development to meet the region’s land requirements. Identifying sites through a network of local agents and landowners, the successful applicant will undertake initial appraisals of these assessing the local residential market, build costs, abnormal costs and planning gain contributions, leading to a formal valuation and offer to a landowner.

Possessing the knowledge and experience of all aspects of the immediate and strategic land acquisition process for residential development, along with a working knowledge of the planning system through to an implementable consent are essential. You should also be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the viability process and cash flows, along with being fully conversant with the legal processes associated with residential development. A strong contact base amongst land professionals throughout London or the Southern Home Counties will be advantageous. We are also interested in hearing from Land Managers who are looking to move their career forward.
