Current Development – Richmond Chase
Located on the edge of Richmond Park is Latchmere House ,a large Victorian building set in several acres of open land. Until recently, it was a prison for adult offenders.
It was closed in 2011 and two years later, Berkeley bought the site unconditionally from the Ministry of Defence. We pursued a planning application which was complicated as the site spans two local boroughs, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
We received a planning consent to restore the grand building to its former glory, framed by gatehouses with a classic garden square in front of it. In 2016 we started construction on 77 Victorian-inspired family houses and apartments, which will be set among tree-lined streets and landscaped ground seach with off street parking and private gardens.
In addition to excellent links to Richmond Park, local residents will benefit from a bright new village green complete with a children’s play area.
