Non-Exec Board Director (Development) – East London – FTC (3 years) – £4,000 + Expenses per annum

 

The Company

 

Our client, are a dynamic and ambitious housing provider operating primarily in the London Borough of Newham. Following a recent governance review the business are looking to recruit a number of new Board Members to ensure that its governance arrangements are supported by a range of skills which will enable the organisation to fulfil its ambitions whilst balancing its commercial and social objectives. Leadership, strategic development and risk management abilities will be essential, as will an understanding of internal controls frameworks and of the ambassadorial role of Board Members.

 

Our client are looking specifically for someone with specialist skills in asset management or development.

 

About You

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience at Managing Director level or equivalent
  • Experience managing multiple disciplines
  • Must have experience working for a National Housebuilder (please note that this is essential)

 

Key Requirements:

  • Understanding of the business’ operational geography (ie. East London & Essex)
  • Awareness of London property market
  • Appreciation of project appraisal toolkits such as ProVal
  • Commercial / Business acumen

 

Commitment Required

  • The Board currently meets bi-monthly plus any additional strategy days away, training events and ambassadorial duties
  • He maximum term of appointment is three terms of three years, with Members required to stand for re-election after each term. When Board members are appointed to a casual vacancy during the year their initial appointment is until the next AGM, when they may stand for election
  • Board & Committee meetings are usually in the companies Head Office based in East London, and will be held late afternoon / early evening
  • Sufficient time should also be set aside to prepare for meetings, undertake learning and development and miscellaneous representative engagements

 

Recruitment Timetable

  • 09.00am 7th August 2017 is the closing date
  • 14th & 15th 2017 August Initial Interviews
  • 18th August will be an informal conversation with the CEO
  • 30th & 31st August will be final interviews
  • Appointment to be made by 5th September
