New Business Officer – East London – Up to £45,000 Basic Salary + Bonus + Benefits

 

Our client are a Residential Developer based in East London, look to expand on their Land & New Business Team focusing on land acquisition and project management for their London portfolio.

 

Working for the Head of Development and New Business you will be tasked with exploring and helping to unlock new business opportunities including on market, off market, strategic land, JV, site amalgamation and tender options, obtaining feasibilities for schemes, running appraisals and sensitivities, making recommendations on sites to progress. You will also be tasked with coordinating planning projects, and where required, supporting in the project management of development delivery schemes.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Management
  • Support in coordinating and developing planning, provide assistance on strategic planning matters, continually review the feasibility of projects, support in the project management of development delivery schemes, draw up and conduct financial appraisals, initiating a proactive and solutions based approach to new business and acquisitions with partners and contacts.
  • Technical Management
  • Realise and maintain contacts with land agents, potential JV partners, development partners, LPAs and other relevant market contacts to retain a constant and up to date knowledge of market movements. Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of regeneration schemes which will assist in transforming declining communities into successful, sustainable communities
  • Where required, support in the project management of capital developments, including establishing project scope and programme, coordinating relevant groups and organisations, and completing developments within budget and within programme
  • Support in the coordination of bid and tender submissions to ensure the business is well positioned to be shortlisted for such opportunities
  • Work with the heads of service to establish and implement strategies for acquiring sites
  • People Management
  • Ensure good working relationships with developers, land agents, local authorities, development partners and other relevant key contacts in line with best practice guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate Policy and Procedures including those in respect of Equality and Diversity
  • Work in partnership with other teams and others to ensure effective communication and decision making

 

About You

  • Educated to honours degree level (or equivalent) in Development/Regeneration or a related subject
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in Private sector/ Social Housing sector in a planning, development or construction environment
  • Experience in managing commercial relationships with the private sector
  • Experience in securing planning consents on residential and mixed use developments
  • Experience in working with development partners and all sections of the business
  • Experience in identifying key aspects of regeneration activity which will assist in transforming declining communities into successful, sustainable communities
