Becoming a Potensis temp
I am looking for work, who do I contact? With experience in all levels of temporary recruitment our consultants are ready to find you your next assignment. Please call one of our regional offices or submit your details via this website.
I have agreed to an assignment what happens next? Within 48 hours of an assignment being agreed you will be sent a pack of documents. Typically these documents will include a contract, timesheets, and details of the assignment. Please note that we are unable to make payment until these documents have been signed and returned.
Services via a limited company If you intend offering your services via a limited company we will need some additional information from you. This will include a copy of your VAT registration certificate, your certificate of incorporation, and your company bank account details. Full details of what we require will be sent to your company when an assignment is undertaken.
It is important that you return all the relevant documentation as payment can only be made once it has been received.
If your services are not offered via a limited company then PAYE deductions will be made.
Potensis is unable to provide advice and/or guidance as to whether it is appropriate to provide your services via a limited company. If in doubt we recommend that you seek professional advice.
Construction Industry Scheme The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) will apply to many assignments where your services are provided through a limited company. Your consultant will advise you if a CIS card or certificate is required.
If the assignment falls within the scope of the CIS then payment cannot be made until you have presented your CIS card / certificate and we have taken a copy for our records. Inland Revenue rules state holders of a CIS 4 must be paid subject to an 18% deduction; all other card / certificate holders receive their payment without deduction.
If you are not registered under CIS and need to be for an assignment please speak to one of our consultants who will advise you how to apply.
Queries Should you have any queries please contact the consultant who arranged the placement and they will be happy to help.
Timesheets
It is important that your timesheet is completed correctly to avoid delays in receiving your pay. The timesheet contains guidance on how it is to be completed, however please contact us if there is anything you are unsure of.
All timesheets must be received by us no later than 10 am Tuesday for payment to be received the same week. If your timesheet is submitted late it will be paid the following week.
We will endeavour to send you blank timesheets on a regular basis. However if you require more please let your consultant know and we will have some sent to you.
Getting paid
How and when do I get paid? Payment is made weekly by BACS. You will receive cleared funds into your nominated bank account on the Friday.
All timesheets are checked by us prior to being approved for payment. Should we identify any issues we will contact you as soon as possible in order that they can be resolved, hence avoiding any delay in payment. Unfortunately even with the best intentions some matters can take time to resolve and may result in a payment delay.
